October means Ryder Cup time! Once again Two Rivers seniors will be up against McCabe seniors in TRSGA / MSGA Ryder Cup competition. This friendly competition is now in it's 5th year.
Results of the Team Play format on October 18, 2023 are below.
January 13, 2024
The start of the 2024 season will be here before we know it. Officially, about 10 weeks away. Looking forward to another successful season. All rules played by last year will continue for the 2024 season with the exception of the tee area for golfers aged 80 and above. For 2024, the tee area will be moved from the forward fairway tees back to the red tees.
Highlighted Rules:
- All men players aged 80 and above whose are allowed to play from the red tees if they choose to do so. All we ask is that whatever tee you choose to play from at the start of the season that you continue to play from that tee the remainder of the season. No switching back and forth. Also, if you turn 80 during the season and you wish to now play from the red tees, you will need to establish a new handicap (3 weeks of play) before you can play in the weekly game.
- ALL women players, regardless of age, are allowed to play from the forward tees if they choose to do so. The reason for this is that unlike men who have a designated senior tee (yellow tee), women do not have any official tee designation other than the red tees which are used for all ages. This can put senior women at a disadvantage unlike senior men who graduate to the yellow tees from the white tees. All we ask is that whatever tee you choose to play from at the start of the season that you continue to play from that tee the remainder of the season. No switching back and forth.
- Par 3 Holes #6 and #11 - Flight-D women only may choose to hit their tee shot from the designated drop area instead of hitting their tee shot from the red tees over the water. All other women flights must hit their tee shot from the red tees on those Par 3s just like all other Par 3s.
- Bunker play remains optional. If you choose to play the ball as it lies, you may first lift and rake the spot where your ball lies. Please place the ball in the same spot once this is done. If you choose to play outside of the bunker, please place your ball directly behind the estimated point of entry. Always keep the bunker between your ball and the flag
